Who?
Irene and her likable boyfriend- was it Hans?*
Where?
Berlin, Germany
What?
"Your hair looks great! Seeing it made me feel happy on the spot."
How did they react?
They looked a bit surprised and said, "thank you!"
How did I feel?
A quick stop at the store turned into nourishment for my eyes! Instead of milk I found hair. Awesome hair. Both Irene and Hans'* hairdo were special- plus, they matched! The compliment went down easy. Hans* stayed calm, Irene laughed and said, "On a Friday night, just doing some shopping, not thinking about the way you look... That's when the people who want to take pictures of you come."
I asked them if they do their hair themselves, and they said, yes, of course! Hans* leaned forward, stroked his hair and grinned. His hair stayed straight. No movement. I was stunned. Looked at both of them again, smiled, loved how much fun they radiate with, just because they dare to wear colors and go for what they like- then I continued my quest of milk. I was happier than before and thought "People who express themselves rock! They make me feel alive. I am so privileged to live in a place that allows that." And adding to that, "Gee, I love complimenting."
Anything else?
*Meeting the two I was completely sleep deprived. I am so sorry about that but I forgot Irene's boyfriend's name. If you are him, please get in touch and let me know- and please know that I am sorry...
