"I love your socks! They just made me laugh. Thanks for that."
HOW did he react?
"Thank you. Finally someone acknowledges I am wearing two different ones!"
HOW did I feel?
Alright. It was a sweet moment.
Tim was dressed formally, wearing a nice shirt, pointed shoes and a good pair of jeans for an afternoon in the library. When he took a cigarette break and sat down next to me outside his pants lifted and I caught a glimpse of his socks. What a neat surprise! They were colorful, had a nice pattern and didn't go together. Or did- in their own way. I grinned. It was one of these small moments that turn an average day into a good one. So was talking to Tim after that- the conversation was brief yet uplifting. He had an astute smile. He said: "I like your project! And know what- you're actually not the first person to compliment me today!" We agreed on the obvious: This had been one good day.
